Unsung Makeup Heroes: Kat Von D Metal Crush "Thunderstruck" Eyeshadow - Makeup and Beauty Blog
The long-running Unsung Heroes series here on Makeup and Dazzler Blog features some of our all-time favorite permanent collection products.
Howdy everyone!
Now, as someone who has a weakness for colour, eyeshadows are very dangerous territory for me.
I'1000 a total neutral lover and, as of quite recently, a color lover as well…unfortunately for my wallet. I usually endeavour to buy my eyeshadows in palettes or sets (similar the Brand Up For E'er shadows) to salve money, just every at present and and so, there are some singles that I tin can't be live without.
(Ummm…this would include eyeshadows like Rose Aureate past Ardency Inn and Pretentious by Makeup Geek.)
And one of my FAVORITES of those is Kat Von D Metal Beat Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck ($21).
I first found out almost information technology on Kat Von D's Instagram a couple months ago, considering it was the #1 selling item (or mayhap it was the #one eyeshadow?) at Sephora. I honestly didn't really demand any more convincing at that betoken, but after some enquiry, I saw that people were using it as a highlighter, too, so I Actually didn't need to be convinced anymore.
What's funny is that when Kat Von D first launched the Metal Vanquish eyeshadows, I wasn't really into whatsoever of the shades…peculiarly Thunderstruck! It looked like a super reg champagne, honestly. So thank god for social media and the Net, because I was quickly schooled and went direct to my Sephora to grab it…except that information technology wasn't that easy at all. It was sold out at every Georgia store for a while, and I had to keep checking back for a week to get it.
But it was really worth all the effort. I don't accept annihilation else like it in my collection, and the formula is so great that I'm not expecting to bump into a dupe anytime either.
So…the eyeshadow looks straight-up white in the pan, only it lights upwards with a lot of warm pinks and golden champagnes mixed in there on the skin and in swatches. It's the most incredible matter in the inner corners, and it looks bright and cute popped on the eye of the lids, likewise. I don't fifty-fifty use other eyeshadows with it a lot of the time. And when I use it on my confront, information technology blends out awesomely (I'one thousand going to presume that's a give-and-take), because the formula is super light, then you can selection upwardly a modest amount, depending on which brush you use. I hateful, heads upwards, though — it'south one of the more intense highlights out in that location, only it absolutely works.
Anyways, I actually honey this eyeshadow formula, and I have my eye on the purple 1 next (don't tell my Natasha Denona palette).
